It would greatly shock most any human on Kala-Tir to find that they were descended from Orks and Elves, but indeed, they are the result of Orkish Soulweavers not wanting their children to die out, despite strong opposition from several Elven groups, who feared the combination of the very different magical abilities of the two races.
